Regulation:

Must complete an individual cross-media production, applying your knowledge and understanding of the theoretical frame work (media language, representation, media industries, audiences).

  1. Create an original music video to promote your new artist or band.
  2. Length 3mins- 3mins and 30 seconds.
  3. Wie range of camera shots, angles and movement to interpret the music and lyrics of the song.
  4. Minimum of 2 filming locations.
  5. Shots of artist or band to establish a clear identity/ image.
  6. Performance footage (lip singing).
  7. Representation of at least one social group (e.g: young people, the elderly, black people etc).
  8. Needs to have a clear structure with an element of narrative.
  9. Every shot needs to be in focus.
  10. Graphics depicting the original name of the artist/ band and title of the track.
  • Use media language to demonstrate intertextuality and/ or generic hybridity (mix things up- elements of two different genres. Or something unconventional).
  • Convey a complex representation of a social group using media language.
  • Subvert and challenge typical representation stereotypes.
  • Present an ideological context typical to an independent music label.
  • Create a magazine that demonstrates clear stylistic, thematic and ideological links to your music video.
