How does the daily mirror speak to it's working class audience?
- Not a lot of text, pictures are easier to read.
- Large sans serif font.
- Only one main story (not a lot to read).
- Focused on left wing politics (against Trump), relevant to working class.
- Direct adress (allows the working class to feel like they matter in politics).
- A lot more cluttered and crowded layout- not really classy.
- Using a restricted lexis is a form of hegemony and anchorage.
Key theory 19- "End of audience," Clay Shirky
- Audiences are no longer passive: they interact with media products in an increasingly complex variety of ways.
